Spin-Off Competition
CABA invites you to participate in the Handcrafter's Spin-off which will be held at the CABA Classic on May 2-4 2008 in Portland, OR
This is an AOBA Certified Spin-off, therefore all AOBA rules apply. Ribbons will be
given to 1st through 3rd places and entries will be displayed at the
CABA Classic show.

1. Each exhibitor may enter 1 (one) item per division/category/group/class.
2. Entries must be submitted in the name of the artisan.
3. All Entries, in all classes, must consist of a minimum of 50% alpaca fiber.
4. All items must have been completed during the last year (after May 5, 2007).
5. Each entry must be accompanied by a written construction description that provides construction details. The construction description requires, but is not limited to, the following information: fiber preparation, fiber content, techniques used, and intended use. This construction description will be included in the points for judging.
6. Written construction descriptions shall not exceed a 3” x 5’ card and must not contain identifying information, including but not limited to alpaca name, individual name or ranch identifying information. NOTE: description cards containing identifying information will be removed and NO points for written description will be awarded.
7. No substitutions at the show.
Closed Judging will take place on Saturday, 9 am - 5 pm. Open for Public view on Sunday, 9 am - 1:00 pm. Items must be left on display until 1:00 pm, Sunday, May 4, 2008. Pick-up will take place afterwards from 1 pm - pm.
For each entry in the fiber arts competition, please choose from each of the 4 sections: Division, Category, Group, and Class.
Fiber Arts Division
I. Junior Beginner - ages 18 and under and working in that fiber art less than 1 year
II. Adult Beginner - over age 18 and working in that fiber art less than 1 year
III. Intermediate - working in that fiber art for more than 1 year
IV. Advanced - working in that fiber art for more than 1 year and has received a score of 90 or greater within a given class
Fiber Arts Category
A. 100% hand-spun yarns with 100% handmade construction and/or 100% hand felted from fiber or hand-spun yarns
B. Partial or non-handwork (i.e. use of commercially spun yarn, knitting machine construction) and/or Less than 100% hand felting (i.e. use of commercially spun yarn or washing machine felted)
